"Not Burnt Out Just Unscrewed" no longer holds 'traditional' auditions for space in our troupe. In the past we've taken on members after a 'one off' audition type process and found that the forward progress of the troupe, as a whole, was stalled while we tried to assimilate the new players and teach them our 'style' and games. This lead to a really high turn over rate and because we perform year round consistency and commitment is very important to us!

What we switched to, and have had good success with, is we "recruit" by word of mouth. Our players know people who are interested, someone attends a show and would like to try it, or they come to our attention is a different way (maybe our website!). We gather contact information and when we need to start adding players, and have 6-8 interested people, we get those people together and rehearse them for 10 weeks separate from the main troupe. We go over all the basics of Improv and how we approach it, as well as teach the games we play most frequently. We do this once or twice a year. (See below for the next scheduled series of workshops)

In this time frame it is easy to discover who is committed to the process and if they possess enough raw talent for us to work with and develop.

The workshops are free to the participants (aside from the time commitment) but does not guarantee that an individual will be accepted as a regular player at the end of the series.

Exceptions to attending the workshops can be made, on a case by case basis, for those interested individuals who have extensive background in Improv. Two years of study and/or one or more years of consistent performance with an established troupe. Email info@unscrewedcomedy.com for more information!
